DON'T use DuckDuckGo anymore

Postby ltx_Lazzarus » Sun Apr 21, 2024 3:29 am

DuckDuckGo, a search engine that reckons it "respects your privacy", y'know?

But then, same story as what happened with ProtonMail - a good mob turned into a bit of a dodgy honeypot service.

DuckDuckGo started trackin' folks from the get-go, after they set up that improving.duckduckgo.com domain to keep tabs on every click, hover, and scroll you make.
And it just got worse over time, reckon they even started trackin' blokes with JavaScript turned off!

Nah, mate, you wanna use SearX instead. It's open-source and you can run it yourself. Duckduckgo's a bit shady, if ya ask me.
